A powerful driving force in today’s market means there is an increasing need for quality documentation and environmental certificates. HØRNING can provide certificates for use in the areas of BREEAM, LEED, Sundahus, Bygvarebedømningen etc. Given that the certification requirements are very individual, these are made on a project-to-project basis. The International EPD® System
Environmental Product Declaration, EPD, is an internationally recognized standard for environmental declaration, and describes and documents the environmental impacts of a given building material throughout its life cycle.
In other words, an EPD is a uniform narrative of how much energy has been used, how many resources it has cost and how much waste it has generated to produce the material.
This ensures contractors, builders, and architects’ full transparency regarding our products’ environmental impact, including resource consumption, waste generation and CO2 emissions.
EN 15804 / ISO 14025

Currently only 1-2% of the world’s forests are certified under the global FSC and PEFC environmental schemes. So the schemes are far from covering the demand. In the areas where tropical forests are threatened, in most cases the threats come from deforestation/burning and not from the commercial use of the original forest. There are, however, exceptions to this in the shape of areas where forestry is bad and, as a result, the forest is not preserved.
HØRNING is CE-certified in accordance with EN 14342.
