Malmö Live: Building with Character

Hørning has delivered the floor to Malmö Live in 2015, the city’s vibrant hub for music, culture, and events. The architecture, designed by Schmidt Hammer Lassen, unites a grand symphony hall, a flexible multi-purpose hall, and a modern congress center in a striking cubic composition - a design that captures the building’s innate musicality and sets the tone for every experience within.

To meet the demands of thousands of visitors each year, the architect chose HØRNING Solid Line® oak flooring with natural oil. Durable, elegant, and easy to maintain, it complements the open spaces and concert halls beautifully. A flooring solution built to last with long lifespan, quick installation, and improved indoor climate.

Solid Line - Authentic Design

Informed design starts from the ground up – knowing the technical details of your flooring ensures aesthetics, durability, and performance in every project.

Solid Line is crafted with precision and has a natural warmth, timeless aesthetics, and uncompromising durability. Its design combines elegance with practicality. Thanks to its construction, the time between start-up and the installation of the finished floor is remarkably short, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Once assembled, there is no risk of boards lifting or requiring subsequent repairs, grinding, or re-oiling – delivering long-lasting stability and peace of mind.

Its slim stave thickness makes Solid Line an ideal choice for renovation projects, where space and flexibility are key considerations.

Furthermore, Solid Line comes with documented sustainability credentials, supporting certifications such as BREEAM, DGNB, and LEED through Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Eurofins testing.
