An Ode to the Tapping Block
A handcrafted tribute to craftsmanship, tradition, and 100 years of shared ground.
In celebration of Hørning’s 100th anniversary, we’re proud to introduce a special tribute to one of our most valued partners: the professional floor layer. For a century, Hørning has worked side by side with skilled craftsmen, in Denmark and abroad, to create floor solutions that leave a lasting impression.
To mark this milestone and honour that bond, we present the tapping block, simple in shape, solid in symbolism.
Crafted by our third foreman, Kristian Damgaard, this oak tapping block is more than just a tool. It is a gesture of gratitude. A nod to the quiet precision, the practiced hand, the deep knowledge that goes into laying a floor the Hørning way.
Every block is handmade in oak, engraved with our centennial logo, and designed as a tribute to the floor layer's craft. Oak is not a coincidence. It’s the wood that professionals instinctively associate with Hørning, a mark of enduring quality, strength, and character.
Over the years, we’ve stood together on countless building sites. From iconic landmarks to understated elegance. Wherever our floors have gone, the tapping block has followed bringing each plank perfectly into place.
So here’s to the tapping block.
To the quiet partner in every perfect joint.
To the floor layers who carry our legacy forward, one strike at a time.
And to another hundred years of creating something lasting. Together.
- Hørning
