Tailored Spaces: The Characterful Floors Behind Copenhagen’s 25hours Hotel at Paper Island
Where bespoke meets bold at Paper Island
At Hørning, we know that extraordinary spaces demand extraordinary materials. That’s why we’re proud to be part of one of Copenhagen’s most charismatic new destinations: the 25hours Hotel at Paper Island, designed by visionary Danish studio COBE Architects.
Located on the iconic Paper Island - once a hub of warehouses and newspaper storage - 25hours reimagines hospitality with colour, energy, and a deep respect for storytelling. Inside, every detail has been considered to create an atmosphere that feels both curated and inviting.
A Floor That Tells a Story
For this project, Hørning supplied specially selected plank flooring alongside handcrafted Versailles-pattern panels - a nod to classic European elegance, tailored to a thoroughly modern space.
The choice of materials wasn’t random. It was the result of close collaboration between the architects, interior designers, and craftspeople. Our bespoke floors bring warmth, texture, and tactility to the hotel's vibrant interiors - whether it’s the intimacy of a dining space or the liveliness of a bar.
More Than Just a Finish
The flooring solution at 25hours, Paper Island, demonstrates what happens when heritage and experimentation meet. It’s not just a backdrop - it’s part of the narrative. The floors ground the space with natural beauty and timeless craftsmanship, while reflecting the hotel’s eclectic and energetic personality.
Each plank, each panel, is a testament to the belief that materials matter - and that great design starts from the ground up.
