Thisted Musikteater: Floors Built for Performance
In the heart of the Danish town Thy, Thisted Musikteater stands as a cultural beacon, welcoming audiences to more than 100 events each year. From rock, jazz and classical concerts to theatre, lectures and stand-up, the venue thrives as a meeting place for art, entertainment and community.
A Theatre with History
The story of the building stretches back to 1933, when Thisted Teater was inaugurated by the Royal Opera and local opera singer Einar Nørby, in connection with the renovation of Hotel Aalborg. Since then, the venue has undergone several transformations. In 1996 it was renamed Thisted Musikteater and today it serves as a cultural hub with three halls - Store Sal, Glassalen and Gobelinsalen - accommodating audiences of up to 570 people.
Flooring Designed for Heavy Use
Such a dynamic venue demands materials that can withstand daily wear while maintaining their beauty. For the renovation, we supplied around 300 m² of oak parquet in Nature grade, installed in both herringbone and square patterns, with dimensions of 65.5 x 458.5 mm. These floors bring a timeless aesthetic to the halls while standing up to the rigours of constant use - from dancing crowds to rolling stage equipment.
Craftsmanship that Lasts
For a century, Hørning has been dedicated to crafting floors that embody durability and elegance in equal measure. In Thisted Musikteater, our solid oak parquet not only enriches the interior but also supports the life of the house - a stage for countless performances, conversations and shared moments.
Here, every step taken across the floor becomes part of the theatre’s ongoing story, grounded in craftsmanship built to endure.
