Technical quality
Quality assurance is performed by all employees in the organisation. Every block and plank from Hørning is quality assessed 6 times during the production process.
The demands are high, and investments are continuously made in order to improve all production stages by introducing new technologies, training and management.
Traditions and fine craftsmanship are nothing on their own, and therefore Hørning has designed its own quality management system. Everybody is responsible for the quality, and the efforts to constantly maintain optimum quality are based on a detailed manual which ensures:
- high, uniform quality
- documentation for all processes
- awareness of the notion of quality at al levels
- reduction of the amount of scrapping
- further development of Hørning's products
- a quality assurance tool which is accessible to everybody in the organisation
- increased competitiveness
- further development of the dialogue between the departments throughout the company
Tests and certifications
Ship floors
When laying wood floors in ships, a number of requirements are made on fire safety, fire resistance, stability, elasticity, etc. Therefore, Hørning is regularly testing the properties of each individual wood type for use in different types of floor.
It should be mentioned that parquet block flooring from Hørning is the only wooden flooring product to have been certified as approved for use in shipbuilding.
To ensure completely objective testing of the floor designs, Hørning has commissioned this work to a number of government institutions and other building technical bodies.
